While both models are spacious, they also focus on comfort no matter what seat you’re in. The Explorer offers seating for up to seven passengers, while the Expedition offers seating for up to eight passengers. If you like the style of the Expedition, but don't necessarily want three rows of seating, you can opt for the Expedition XL SXT, which has two rows and five seats. Both feature comfortable cloth seats in several of the basic trims and second-row heated captain's chair, as well as available heated and ventilated front seats. The Expedition also features available leather trimmed seating options with ActiveX™contour technology for a luxurious ride in a reimagined design. The Explorer also has available leather and leather trimmed seating options for an elevated driving experience.
They are also both incredibly versatile, with a variety of seating and cargo configurations, so you can change up the seating based on what you’re carrying. If you have more gear, you can utilize the folding second-row seats in the Explorer. In the Expedition you can utilize the third-row PowerFold® option to gain extra room at the push of a button.
Both models will also keep you connected with FordPass™ Connect with a WiFi® hotspot that will extend up to 50 feet beyond the vehicle. If you need a quick charge on your device, the Expedition has both second and third-row USB ports. You’ll also have total control over your comfort in the Explorer and Expedition with tri-zone automatic temperature control and soothing ambient lighting. With the Explorer, you’ll also have second-row blinds to block the sun for a snooze on a long car ride.
